Tirrenia is a fraction of the municipality of Pisa and is a seaside tourist resort that rises in the thirties of the twentieth century. It takes its name from the homonymous sea on which it overlooks, although it is believed to be mostly bathed by the Ligurian Sea. It is beautifully immersed in the maritime pine forest of the Pisan coast and is included in the southern part of the Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli Natural Park. Its peculiarity lies in being one of the last Italian dune landscapes and as such, it is a WWF protected oasis.
The dunes of Tirrenia are characterized by deep, white and crystalline beaches. The sand dunes are enclosed in twenty-four hectares within which the sandy concentrations reach up to ten meters in height.
Tirrenia has been holding the blue flag of clean beaches for over five years and we recommend that you be environmentally friendly with a few small precautions to leave the place better than you found it. From Tirrenia you can also visit the Tuscan archipelago and discover the island beauties that make it up with unforgettable boat excursions. Thanks to its strategic position, in fact, you can reach many of the most interesting places to visit in the whole region.
